Elbow, TuNe-YaRdS, The Shouting Matches, Tedeschi Trucks Band…

I know I have not posted in a long time but this site got away from me. Here are is what I have been listening to lately.

Elbow This reminds me of 90’s alt rocks like Tonic or Dishwalla but with a British singer.

Tune Yards This album is insane like all Tune Yards albums. I really like the first 5-6 songs and then it tapers off but their rhythms, crazy time signatures and all over the place melodies eventually wear you down and you can’t help but like it.

The Shouting Matches This is a bluesy Bon Iver. It was a side project for Justin Vernon that never really took off for them but its an excellent album.

Tedeschi Trucks Band I am a little embarrassed that I like this album so much but its really good. Has a jam band meets blues band mentality and the songs are very catchy. Susan Tedeschi’s voice slightly reminds me of Bonnie Raitt but Derek Trucks and play slide guitar better than anyone else.

Paul Kimbiris Of course I am listening to this album because of our show coming up in a few weeks. A brilliant singer songwriter album. Hints of Bob Dylan, Coldplay and Simon and Garfunkel. Check it out and come to the show!

Ray LaMontage This in my opinion is Ray’s best album to date. I really like the collaboration with Dan Averbach from the Black Keys. This album is rocking to 60’s songwriter stuff. Great melodies , catchy songs and great playing for all instruments.
