WHAT IS REMOTE DRUM TRACKING?
TL;DR - You send me your drum-less song, I record drums and send you the tracks.
With the continued growth and simplicity of internet file sharing (via Dropbox, WeTransfer, Onehub, etc) it is easier and more affordable than ever to professionally record music from anywhere around the world, with anyone, and send the audio files between one another quickly and affordably.
For example— You have written and recorded the rhythm guitar track(s) and scratch vocals to your new song using a click or drum machine as a placeholder, and are now looking for the perfect drum tracks to help bring the song to life. Through remote recording, you can send those files to me, where I open them with my recording software and add professionally performed and recorded drum tracks, and send them back. You can then seamlessly insert the drum tracks into your project and mix them seamlessly with the other instruments.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
TL;DR - You send me your drum-less song, I record drums in my DAW and send the files back to you.
Communication is key. Once we agree that we will be working together, it’s best to hop on a call/facetime talk about your vision for the song. Do you have any drum tones in mind or want me to try something in a certain part of the song. If you don’t have any notes and just want me to run with it, that’s perfectly fine. I love to be creative write my own parts for the song. I will send you rough mixes along the way so you can let me know if you are liking what you are hearing so far.
Once we agree the song is complete, I will send you the drum tracks (stems) via dropbox both processed and non-processed for you to mix and master.
